Value to Wood
The "Value to Wood" program is a nation-wide partnership meant to support manufacturers, in all regions of Canada. The objective is to provide direct help to manufacturers so that they can put new knowledge and technologies into useful application and identify business opportunities. The Value to Wood program includes a research partnership intended to accelerate the implementation of new manufacturing processes and the development of value-added wood products.
Canadian Wood Council
The Canadian Wood Council CWC is the national association representing Canadian manufacturers of wood products used in construction. Through its member Associations, the Council represents those manufacturers. CWC's mission is to maintain and expand markets for Canadian wood products. CWC accomplishes this by working with building codes and standards and by developing and communicating technical information to architects, engineers and builders.
FISLA
The FOREST INDUSTRY SUPPLIERS AND LOGGING ASSOCIATION (FISLA) is an independent Canadian-based non-profit industry organization devoted to the sustainable development of all forest industry sectors. FISLA consists mainly of companies that provide a variety of goods and services (including logging) to the primary forest producers of lumber, pulp, paper, newsprint, veneer, plywood, oriented strandboard, MDF, agri-fiber, and numerous other value added and secondary wood components.

On September 12, 2006, Canada and the United States signed the Softwood Lumber Agreement. Since then, Canada has taken concrete steps to implement this important bilateral agreement.
